เครื่องมืออีกตัวที่ช่วยประเมินสุขภาพทารกในครรภ์ คือ เจ้าตัว Electronic Fetal Monitoring ใช้ในกรณีต่างๆ เช่น 
มารดารเบาหวาน ทารกตัวเล็ก เจริญเติบโตช้า ครรภ์เกินกำหนด มารดาครรภ์เป็นพิษ แต่ที่หมอเอาใช้บ่อยๆ คือ ช่วยดูมดลูกหดรัดตัว หรือให้เจ้าหน้าที่ติด ดูการเต้นของหัวใจระหว่างรอแพทย์ มาตรวจ มีติดไว้อุ่นใจในคลินิกค่ะ
Electronic fetal monitoring (EFM), also called cardiotocography (CTG), is when the baby’s heart rate is monitored with an ultrasound machine while the mother’s contractions are monitored with a pressure sensor. Fetal health is evaluated, in part, by assessment of fetal heart rate patterns.
The primary goal of antepartum testing is to reduce the risk of stillbirth by identifying fetuses at risk for hypoxic injury or death so that appropriate intervention (eg, measures directed at improving fetal oxygenation, delivery) might be undertaken to prevent these adverse outcomes, if possible. The secondary goal is to identify normally oxygenated fetuses so that pregnancy can be continued safely, and unnecessary intervention can be avoided.
